Memorial & Legacy Writing
Some lives are too important to be reduced to dates and bullet points.
Whether you’re honoring someone you’ve lost, preparing a celebration of life, preserving a family story, or putting into words what someone has meant to you, I’ll help you create something that sounds like the person you remember, not something pulled from a template.
We’ll begin with the stories, details, memories, phrases, and little things that made them them. From there, I’ll shape those pieces into writing that is personal, honest, and worthy of being kept.
Services may include obituary writing, memorial and celebration-of-life tributes, personal tribute pieces, legacy letters, and life-story profiles.
A personal note from Southern Peanut
Because of the deeply personal and sensitive nature of memorial and legacy writing, every project is approached individually. The prices listed here are starting points. Final scope and pricing are determined case by case by me personally, based on your circumstances and what you need.
This is not simply another writing service to me. I have been the little girl on the receiving end of words someone made sure were left behind. I understand what it means to hold something written by someone who can no longer say those words to you themselves.
So when you trust me with an obituary, a memorial, a life story, or words meant to find someone years from now, I understand what you are actually placing in my hands.
Your story and the people you love will be treated with dignity, care, and honor. Always.
Letters for the Future begin at $75, but these are especially handled case by case. Illness, loss, and limited time do not fit neatly into packages or price lists. We will talk about what you want to leave behind, who you want it to reach, and what makes sense for you and your family.
You don’t need to know what to say. You just need to tell me who they were.
Because a life should be remembered for more than when it began and when it ended.
